Detachment 88 Arrests Suspected Terrorists in Sleman, Yogyakarta

Lensa Aktual. The Anti-terrorist Special Detachment 88 Team detained a terrorist suspect with the initials IA who had previously been arrested along with three of his colleagues in a rented house in Krapyak Hamlet, Sleman, Yogyakarta (DIY).

"The arrest of a suspected terrorist by Densus 88," said the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta on Wednesday (12/12).

According to him, IA is a migrant citizen from Indramayu, West Java, not a native of Sleman.

Dedi explained, the detention of IA was carried out for the development of alleged terrorism cases which were alleged to be concerned.

"Now the suspect is in the investigation," said the one star general.

Dedi also suspected that IA was still related to a network or terror group which had previously been revealed by Detachment 88.

He stressed that the act of arrest and detention was carried out in the context of preventive efforts or prevention of acts of terrorism

"(Development) of several cases that we have previously secured, the network will continue to be developed. If there are strong indications he will commit terror, then there will be preventive steps for Detachment 88 to do arrest," Dedi said.
